School of Information Technology The following formula describes a large company\'s number of viruses, V, on employee computers. The variable, t, is time, in years, since 2002. Answer the following questions showing all of your work. V = 5 square root t + 12 How many viruses were reported in 2003 (t = 1)? How many viruses were reported in 2006 (t = 4)? How many viruses were reported in 2038 (t = 36)? Using the information on number of viruses reported in the year 2003, 2006, and 2038, describe the company\'s increase in viruses on employee computers since 2002. Write a prime trinomial and state why it cannot be factored. Pick three random numbers and find the greatest common factor of all three. Write the formula of the polynomial factoring and provide one example.

Solution

I am allowed to answer only 1 question at a time. So I will answer 1st question. Please aks other as different question

1.
V = 5*sqrt(t) + 12

a)
at t= 1
V = 5*sqrt(t) + 12
    =5*sqrt(1) + 12
    = 17

b)
at t= 4
V = 5*sqrt(t) + 12
    =5*sqrt(4) + 12
    = 5*2+12
     = 22

c)
at t= 36
V = 5*sqrt(t) + 12
    =5*sqrt(36) + 12
    = 5*6 + 12
    = 42

d)
number of viruses has been increasing at the rate given by dV/dt
dV/dt = 5/(2*sqrt(t))
