You work for a health system that has 14 hospitals and 32 outpatient clinics. You will be responsible for working with a team of health professionals to track clinical errors, compile reports, establish best practices, and collaborate to provide training to health professionals at all levels. You will be working with an interdisciplinary team of various specialties, backgrounds, and personalities. This is a high visibility project as your CEO wants weekly reports on progress and based on the outcomes, you (along with two of your peers) will travel to the State capital to speak with several representatives on how to replicate your program. You know well ahead of time a few team members do not get along and it will be challenging to get these professionals in the same room let along participate in a six month project

Who’s on the team?
Team members should be people with knowledge of health care systems not only in USA but with background in other developed countries that can contribute to the project. Doctors with years of experience on different fields of the medicine
How will you address emotions and interpersonal conflict?
First of all I will have a meeting with all the members of the project before starting it. I will explain the porpoise of the project and why they were chosen and the expectations of the result.
Understanding there a couple of member who don’t get along well I will put them to work together because they need to put their difference on a side and be professional. There is no room for revenge on the project, we just want to get the best results possible.
If someone has an issue with that I will invite them to speak in front of every one and tell us what is the issue that he has with any of the team member, maybe we can all come together to a solution, perhaps it was just a misunderstanding but I strongly believe and talking is the way to fix the problems.
What is the expectation and standard for team communication?
I expect each email, phone call or message to be answered within a reasonable amount of time. If there is an emergency and I need a response I will demand it.
Because we will be given weekly reports to the CEO I will need all the data 1 day before I send the report. This is critical because there is going to be large amount of data and no room for errors.
What methods (or tools) will you use to manage personnel and team resources?
We will use a Cloud software to manage the personnel and team resources. I will check the reports daily online and because everything is on the cloud there is no excuses that you don’t have your computer, you can use just any.
Of the software each of the members will put their goals and objectives and will do follow ups and I will check for updates.
How will you address teamwork, motivation, and goal setting when setting up the initial meeting?
I will tell me why we are here and why everyone is so important, I will make sure each of the personnel biography and work history is showed in the presentation so they will feel good when they see their name and accomplishments and everyone else is cheering for them.
Of course goals are high but nothing worthy comes easy, we will need to fight as a team to get results but with the team chosen we will not have any problems reaching success
