1.3 c) f(x) = 2x -3 ; x < 2

= -x^2/2 ; 2 <= x < 4

= ( 5 +x) ; x > = 4

function at x =3 : for x =3 lies in the interval 2 <=x < 4 ; f(x) = -x^2/2

So, f(3) = -3^2/2 = -9/2

function x= -1 ; for x =-1 lies in the interval x < 2 ; f(x) = 2x -3

f( -1) = 2(-1) -3 = -5

function at x =7 ; for x =7 lies in the interval x>=4 ; f(x) = 5+x

f(7) = 5 +7 = 1 2

function at x =0 ; x=0 lies in the interval x<2 ; f(x) = 2x -3
