A bag contains 6 cherry, 3 orange, and 2 lemon candies. You reach in and take 3 pieces of candy at random. What is the probability that you have at least 2 orange candies?
Solution
To find this you add the prob of getting a cherry on first x prob getting a cherry on the second x prob of getting a cherry on the third
Prob of getting one on the first is 6/11 because there are 6 cherry and 11 candies in the bag
Prob of getting second is 5/10 because we already got a cherry
Prob of getting third is 4/9 because we took out another one
Multiply these all together
=6/11x5/10x4/9
=120/990
=12/99
=4/33
