The purpose of usage of negative control in PAGE is to know the absence of target cell/tissue in our sample not to know the expression of required target cell in our sample and this step is useful in know/ check the non specific binding sites and tofind false positive data/results.

Example for running negative control - PD1 proteins which are absent in various organs such as placenta, kidney, heart etc., COS cells having vector, fr-1-V5 transfected HEK293T cells etc can be used.
