By definition it is a selective process (selecting from already existing information), so is not a creative process. It might explain the survival of the fittest (why certain genes benefit creatures more in certain environments), but not the arrival of the fittest (where the genes and creatures came from in the first place. The death of individuals not adapted to an environment and the survival of those that are suited does not explain the origin of the traits that make an organism adapted to an environment.

the evolution process in itself is so much complex process to be fully understood by us. when we talking about survival of the fittest the traits that come to a species is a result of successive evolutionary characters that give the species some specific benefits which help them in natural selection process. so individuals who posses these advantages survives and those dont having it are not selected by nature.

now if we talk about selectivity we see in the course of evolution different species habitated in different ecological conditions those who adapted to that and developed certain traits that help them to live there and survive are selected by nature for generation. now suppose certain change in their habitable conditions occur by that time most of the population die only those that adapt to the change will survive.
