What happens to the excited electrons of regular pigments and how does this differ for photosynthetic pigments?

Solution

Ans:- The excited eletrons of regular pigments jumps from the one energy level to the another in the form of energy transfer. Now if we consider photosynthetic pigments then each pigment molecule within the photosystem is capable of capturing photons. When light of a suitable wavelenght strikes a pigmewnt molecule the resulting excitation passes from one chlorophyll molecule to another in the form of energy. The energy is transferred as an excited electron to that protein which passes it on to a series of other membrane making ATP and NADPH.
