Suggest a mathematical method to correct for the non spherical nature of the balloon.

Solution

These are two methods I know how to find the volume of the non spherical method.

Method 1:- Fill the balloon with water, then weigh it. then the volume is
Volume (cm^3) = Weight(gm)/1(gm/cm^3), (neglecting the weight of the empty balloon.)

Method 2:- Fill the balloon with air. Then, under water,
let the air escape into an inverted bottle that has been filled with water.
Weigh the full bottle, then again with the air that has escaped from the balloon.
Use the same equation as in #1 where Weight = Weight(full)-Weight(not so full)
