Security Implications

What are the implications of Shannon’s work on security?

Shannon, C. (1948, July). A Mathematical Theory of Communication. The Bell System Technical Journal, 27(3), 379-423.

Solution

Implications of Shannon’s work on security :-

1) Shannon\'s work on cryptography security systems.

2) Shannon proved the cryptographic one-time password is unbreakable in his classified research that was later published in October 1949.

3) He can proved the unbreakable system must have essentially the same characteristics as the one-time padssword system. the key must be truly random as large as the plaintext information never reused in whole or part of the kept secret key value.

4) The one-time password system by the Soviets was partially broken by the National Security Agency but this was because of misuses of the one-time password by Soviet cryptographic technicians.
