Given what we learned about love and attraction, do you think arranged marriages are more or less likely to be successful? Why?

In arranged marriages, mate is chosen based on the short term criteria, i.e. the appearance and wealth, but the value systems and emotional stability are less assessed. However, they are successful in countries like India because the elderly interfere in the decision and provide long-term bias into the decision. Other reason for the success of arranged marriage is strictly following the traditional values like marrying one person in a life time, etc.

However, the failure rate of arranged marriages is increasing in the urban regions of India may be due to increasing instability in social conditions.
