We use the property:
two intersecting lines form pairs of congruent angles, called vertical angles.
OR to put it in other words:
When two lines intersect they form two pairs of oppositeangles, A + C and B + D. Another word for opposite anglesare vertical angles. Vertical angles are always congruent, which means that they are equal. Adjacent angles areangles that come out of the same vertex.
So, 2 and 5 are vertical angles. and hence are congruent.
