The following tables relates degree of interest in political elections to education and age:
Test two hypotheses,
H1: given educational level, age and degree of interest are unrelated, and
H2: given age, educational level and degree of interest are unrelated.
Which test should be used? Fisher\'s Exact Test or Chi-Square Test of Homogeneity, or Chi-Square Test of Independence or McNemar\'s Test?
| Degree of Interest | Under 45 | Over 45 |
| Great | 71 | 217 |
| Little | 305 | 652 |
Solution
Since we have to find the association between the variables and data is not paired so Chi Chi-Square Test of Independence should be used. FIsher\'s Exact used for proportion and McNemar\'s test are used for paired data.
