Either a person used text messaging or not. Since both events are mutually exclusive so the probability the person is a male is
P(male)=0.37+0.12=0.47

The probability the person uses texting is
P(texting)=0.37+0.33=0.70
(c)
The probability the person is female and does not use texting is
P(Female and not use texting)=0.18
and the probability that the persin is a male and does use texting is
P(male and use texting) = 0.37
Since both above functions are mutually exclusive so the probability the person is female and does not use texting or is a male and does use texting is
P(Female and not use texting or male and use texting)=0.37+0.18=0.55
