1) (a) Vertically opposite angles are equal. Also Aletrnate angles are equal.

In the diagram HBR = SBQ, Since they are vertically opposite angles.

SBQ = BQC, Since they are alternate angles, and

BQC = TQN, Since they are vertically opposite angles.

Therefore HBR = SBQ = BQC = TQN

(b) BQN = CQT, Since they are vertically opposite angles.

BQN = RBQ, Since they are alternate angles, and

RBQ = HBS, Since they are vertically opposite angles.

Therefore BQN = CQT = RBQ = HBS
