The following paper discusses the responsibilities of the database administrator (DBA). This includes:

1. Creating a backup and recovery for the data:

The database administrator should create a backup for each of the database files which are usually based on data volatility. The system errors can make the database inoperable leading to a complete blackout of data. As a result backup of the data must be created so that we can use it in the absence of the original data of the database. This will ensure data is immediately available in the times of problems of problems with a database.

2. It ensures data integrity:

DBA must assign the databases in order to ensure that only accurate and appropriate information is entered by the user and is maintained. The database can further deploy entity integrity, referential integrity, check constraints. This will make sure information remains same without any intruders modifying it. This will help in making a database secure and protected. It also makes sure capacity planning in order to accommodate a large number of users and information. It predicts the growth on the basis of data usability patterns.
