I would like the procedure for solving this problem. The answers are in the parentheses.

For the circuit to the right, find the equivalent resistance, the total current, and the voltage across the 6.00 ohm resistor. (R_eq = 13.4 ohm; I,ota! = 0.373 A; Delta V_6 = 2.24 V)

Solution

3ohm and 4ohm are in parallel connection, equivalent of these two is R\' then

1/R\' = 1/3 + 1/4

R\' = 1.71 ohm

1ohm and 2 ohm are in parallel connection,

1/R\" = 1/1 + 1/2

R\" = 0.67 ohm

now 5ohm, R\", R\' and 6ohm are in series.

so Req = 5 + R\" + R\' + 6 = 13.38 ohm

Current through battery, I = e / Req = 5 / 13.38 = 0.37 A

so this same current will flow in all series resistor.

PD across 5 ohm = IR = 0.37 x 5 = 1.87 volt

PD across 6 ohm = 0.37 x 6 = 2.24 volt

I would like the procedure for solving this problem. The answers are in the parentheses. For the circuit to the right, find the equivalent resistance, the total
