Interactions between organisms and the environment limit the distribution of species What factors limit the distribution of species? Provide an example of how each of the preceding factors could potentially serve to limit a species distribution

Solution

A limiting factorof a system, is an input or varible such that a small change in it from the present value could cause a non neligible change in an output or other measure of the system .Idetifiaton of factor as limiting is of use of the use only in distinction to one or more other factors which are non limiting. Discipline differ in their use of the term as to whether they allow the simultaneous existence of more than one limiting factor.

In biology, common limiting factor resources are environmental conditions that limit the growth, abundance, or distribution of an organism in ecosystem. The concept is based on Liebig law, of the minimum, which states that growth is controlled not by the total amount of resources available but by scarcest resource. In other words, a factor is limiting if a change in the factors produces increased growth., abundance, or distribution of an organism, when other factors necessary to the organism life do not. This factor may be physical or biological.

Limiting factors are not all limited to the condition of the species. Some factors may be reduced or increased based on circumstances. The limiting factor is parallel in numerous other process. For instance, limiting factor causes competition between one individuals of a species population.
