Before using an ohmmeter in a radio circuit or anywhere else
Before using an ohmmeter in a radio circuit (or anywhere else) what should one do to the power in the radio circuit?
Solution
An ohmmeter basically has its own source of emf inside. The ohmmeter supplies small amount of current across the device for which the measurement is to be made, this current helps determine the resistance of the device.
If there is an external source of emf connected to the device, it will interfere with the measurements of the ohmmeter, in which case, you will need to measure the voltage and current separately and then determine the resistance.
Therefore while connecting an ohmmeter to the circuit the power source of the circuit must be put off.
