When oxygen passes from the lungs into the circulatory syste
When oxygen passes from the lungs into the circulatory system as a gas, how many cells does it have to pass through to be in the circulatory system?
Solution
Pulmonary circulation refers to a system of blood vessels and associated tissues forming a part of cardiovascular system that carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs and the oxygenated blood from the lungs back to the heart by the pulmonary veins.
The deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle is carried to the lungs through the pulmonary artery which divides into left and the right pulmonary artery to enter the left and the right lung respectively.the deoxygenated blood is taken to the alveolar capillaries of the lungs through a network of arterioles in the lung. The alveolar capillaries facilitates the exchange of gases by the process of diffusion and then carried into the pulmonary venules ,plumonary veins and then into the left atrium of the heart.
