Speciation is a process of formation of a new species from the existing ones. An exisitng species can change its form so much that it no longer shares the gene pool with the previous species and becomes distinct.

there are 2 types of speciation-

Sympatric speciation - Sympatric speciation means when there is a large population and some part of it does not reproduce or share genes with the other part so much so that it becomes genetically distant and gives rise to a new species.

Allopatric speciation: this type of speciation means physical isolation mainly because of the geographical location of species the population becomes entirely separated and so gives rise to new species.
