Is heat pump compressor the same as an airconditioning compr
Solution
question 1 answer-
The main function of the air conditioners is to cool the room and maintain comfort conditions when the atmospheric temperature is high. The main function of the heat pumps is to heat the room when the atmospheric temperature is very low
All the components that are present in the air conditioners are also present in the heat pumps. But the air conditioners operate on the regular vapor compression cycle, while the heat pumps operate on a reverse vapor compression cycle also called as reverse refrigeration cycle
Central air conditioning systems use a closed loop system that circulates refrigerant to cool the air. The refrigerant travels through a compressor valve that subjects it to a great deal of heat and pressure, then into a compressor coil that bleeds off the heat into the outside air. This reverts the refrigerant to a liquid state, though it’s still under a lot of pressure. It then moves through an expansion valve and into a series of evaporator coils. As it evaporates, it pulls heat from the surrounding air, cool it. The cool air is then blown with a fan through a system of ducts that distribute it throughout your entire house.
The heat pump relies on the same basic system, with difference that the closed loop in a heat pump is set up such that it can blow hot air into the home instead of outside. This allows it to function as a heater in the winter and an air conditioner in the summer.
Evaporator also called as cooling coil is present inside of room fo conditioner while it is present outside of room for a heat pump.
Heat pump is cost effective method to heat a room.
question 2 answer-
Heat pump takes heat from outside in winter time and compresses it and brings it inside and heats the room. But this is difficult process if outside atmosphere is very cold.So a heat pump has more than one stage of auxilary heat. Auxilary heat may be gas ,oil,or electric furnace.
question 3 answer-
now we need not have to operate between stages of auxilary heat manually. An appropriate thermostat will do everything. So a heat pump have thermostat.
