A fair die is rolled A denotes getting a number less than 2
A fair die is rolled. A denotes getting a number less than 2 and B denotes getting a number greater than 4. What is probability of P(A or B)
| 1/3 |
Solution
A fair die is rolled then the sample space(S) is,
S={1,2,3,4,5,6}
now we have to find the probability that,
Pr(number <2 or number>4)
=Pr(number <2)+ Pr(number>4)
=1/6 + 2/6
=1/2
hence the required probability is 1/2
