Two cards are drawn without replacement from an ordinary deck. Find the probability that two kings are drawn.

Solution

There are 52 cards in a deck. Thereare : 4 Kings.

Probabilty that the 1st card chosen : 4/52.

Now you have 3 king cards left, and 51 cards left in the deck (this is the no replacement part of the problem).

The probability of two independent events occuring is p(A) x p(B), or in this case 4/52 * 3/51 = 132/2652. SImplified, this is 1/221.
