Solution
Although modern scientists have altered Bacon’s philosophies, we still use the method of establishing true knowledge via uncertainty and experimentation that Bacon started in 1620. The philosophical work left by Bacon marks a very important advancement in the study of the world around us, but this technique of investigation was not completed in a vacuum. Rather, Bacon\'s work should be observed as a part of a wide-ranging cultural revolution accelerated by the growth of the printing press in the fifteenth century.
When Bacon\'s philosophies on experimentation and observation were accepted, people started using them to exploit nature for profit. The lessons from nature were not much about altering conventional attitudes and beliefs, but more about invigorating the economy. By the end of the sixteenth century, the Scientific Revolution gave rise to an Industrial Revolution which radically changed the everyday lives of people around the world. Western society has been progressing on Bacon\'s model for the past three hundred years. We may doubt Bacon\'s philosophy, but there is plenty that human senses miss. Hence, Bacon is unlikely to change his views if he were alive.
