Solution
Cells damaged by microbes or injury ( bruise , burn , cut or bite) initiate a defensive response called inflammation. Four characteristics of inflammation are redness, pain, heat and swelling.
After the tissue damage, damaged madt cells, basophills and platelets release chemicals called histamines which causes vasodilation and increases permeability of blood capillaries and causes attarction of neutrophills. Vasodilation causes more blood flow to the damaged area making it red and warm. Increased permeability causes release of plasma and phagocytes and antibodies from blood into tissue spaces. Accumulation of plasma into tissue spaces causes swelling and dilutes the toxins secreted by bacteria or other pathogens. Blood clotting protiens are leaked into tissue due to increased permeability which begins process of blood clotting at the injury site and fibronogen is converted into fibrion thread that traps the invading microve and blocks its spread. Within minutes after injury, dilation and increased permeability of capilaries produce heat, redness and edema in the affected area.
