Question 2.2. (TCO 1) In a circuit, 12 volts is across a resistor, resulting in a current of 4 mA. What is the resistor value? (Points : 10)

Solution

1. The color coding gives resistance values. B(0,black) B(1,brown), R(2,red), O(3,orange), Y(4,yellow), G(5,green), B(6,blue), V(7,voilet), G(8,gray), W(9,white). Tolerance is given by Gold (5%), silver (10%) and no color (20%)

In this question we were given brown(1),black(0),orange(multification , 103 ) and Gold which is four band representation first and second band gives number, third band color gives multification factor and Gold gives tolerance.

The value of resistor is (10*103)+/- (5%) . The upper limit of resistance is 10,500 ohm.

2) Given 12 V is across a resistor and current through that resistor is 4 mA . Resistor Values is ?

we know that by ohms law current is propositional to voltage applied at constant temperature

V(Voltage) = I(current) * R(resistance)

R = V/I = 12 / (4*10-3) = 3 k ohm;

1. (TCO 1) The resistance and upper limit of a resistor with the colors brown, black, orange, and gold is: (Points : 10) Question 2.2. (TCO 1) In a circuit, 12
