Using the (1) The ultimate stress for each material (2) Calculate the Elastic modulus for each material (3) Which material is more ductile? Why? Solution

(1) Answer:- Ultimate stress of material A = 30 MPa

Ultimate stress of material B = 15 MPa

(2) Answer:-

Elastic modulus of material A = Stress/strain = 25/(0.0004) = 6.25 *104 MPa

Elastic modulus of material B = 15/(0.0005) = 3 *104 MPa

(3) Answer:- Material A is more ductile than material B. Because end strain of material A is greater than end strain of material B .
