please solve it
The stress-strain plots for two the (20 marks) metallic materials, Material A and Material B, are shown below specimens from the two materials were tested until failure. Using the (1) The ultimate stress for each material (2) Calculate the Elastic modulus for each material (3) Which material is more ductile? Why? Stress (MPa) 20 10 Material B 0.01 0.02 0.03 0.04 0.05 0.06 0.07 Strain (%)Solution
(1) Answer:- Ultimate stress of material A = 30 MPa
Ultimate stress of material B = 15 MPa
(2) Answer:-
Elastic modulus of material A = Stress/strain = 25/(0.0004) = 6.25 *104 MPa
Elastic modulus of material B = 15/(0.0005) = 3 *104 MPa
(3) Answer:- Material A is more ductile than material B. Because end strain of material A is greater than end strain of material B .
