A diode is used as a temperature sensor. When a constant current of 0.5mA flows through the diode and a voltage of 0.65 volts is measured across it, what is the temperature of the diode?
Solution
The temperature of the diode changes from one type of diode to another type of diode. For example i am taking the silicon diode which increases 1°c for every 2.5mv drop at the diode. So if 0.65 volts drop at the diode then we can calculate how much temperature it gains
0.65/0.0025=260°c gain causes especially in silicon diode only
