Hi, i haven\'t used trig in a long time and i\'m having trouble. The question is the circumference of a fountain is 90 feet. The angle to the top is 45 degrees. How tall is the fountain? Could someone give a step by step solution, and explain how you got certain outcomes from using sin cosine ect... Again i dont remember hardly anything about sin and stuff. Thanks
Solution
circumference = 2pi*radius
2pi*r = 90
radius = 45/pi ft
Angle fountain makes wioth top is 45 deg
So, Height of fountain = radius*cos45 = (45/pi)*(1/sqrt2)
= 10.128 ft
