These is a need to create a cubic solid with a through-hole in it, as shown. The cube length is 100 mm, and the hole diameter is 50 mm. In NX 10, use two methods to create the solid: (a) non-parametric method, and (b) parametric method where the through-hole diameter is always one half of the cube length. Please provide the screen copies of the two objects.

Solution

A cube has :

(1) six surfaces or faces

(2) 8 vertices

(3) 12 edges or sides of equal length.

since a cube has all sides equal.

volume of a cube = (side*side*side) cubic units.

=1*1*1 cubic units

since area = side*side

volume of a cube= (area*side) cubic units.

DEFINITION of \'Non parametric Method\':

A method commonly used in statistics to model and analyze ordinal or nominal data with small sample sizes. Unlike parametric models, nonparametric models do not require the modeler to make any assumptions about the distribution of the population, and so are sometimes referred to as a distribution-free method.

DEFINITION of parametric Method:

Parametric statistics is a branch of statistics which assumes that sample data comes from a population that follows a probability distribution based on a fixed set of parameters.
