f(x) = log_3(x+1)  

1st we will find its inverse for this we will write in exponent form

put y=f(x)

y=log_3(x+1)

3^y=x+1

now we will find its inverse

exchange x to y and y to x

3^x=y+1

y= 3^x-1

f^-1(x)= 3^x -1

put x= 2

f^-1(2) = 3^2-1

=9-1 = 8 answer
