Some grains of ferrite in your photomicrograph appear larger

Some grains of ferrite in your photomicrograph appear larger than others. Can you give one reason for this? There are two main reasons.

Solution

Two main reasons according to me

1. Due to heat, These grains got recrystallized and refined due to which grain growth takes place and hence becomes larger in grain size which accounts for ductility of Ferrite.

2. May be during deformation due to dislocation movement these grains were near the grain boundaries and got unaffected by the deformation.
