What are the possible values for the orbital quantum number

What are the possible values for the orbital quantum number?

What are the possible values for the orbital quantum number A hydrogen atom is in a state for which the principle quantum number is six and the magnetic quantum number is three. What are the possible values for the orbital quantum number 0 or 3 only 3 or 5 only 4 or 6 only 3,4, or 5 only 4, 5, or 6 only

Solution

Orbital quantum number

   l = 0 , 1,2 ..............n -1

      = 0, 1 , 2 , 3 ,4 , 5

magnetic quantum number

m = - l to + l

since n = 6 and m = 3 , l = 3

Answer is 0 to 3 only
