In the next 5 years, you estimate Cardinal population sizes in the same way, and find that their size in the 2nd year is 162, in the 3rd year is 175, in the 4th year 189, in the 5th year 204, and in the 6th year is 220. What is the geometric rate of increase for this population assuming resources have been unlimited?

Solution

Geometric rate is one per year because-

Population size difference-

2nd year = 162, 3rd year= 175        175-162 = 13

3rd year=175, 4th = 189                  189-175 = 14

4th year=189,   5th year= 204           204-189 = 15

5th year= 204, 6thyear= 220         220-204 = 16

In the next 5 years, you estimate Cardinal population sizes in the same way, and find that their size in the 2nd year is 162, in the 3rd year is 175, in the 4th
