likelihood of something happening is knwon as probability in statistical sense.Classical probability is the statistical concept that measures the likelihood of something happening.In classic sense, its meaning that every statistical experiment will contain elements that are equally likely to happen.e.g. tossing of a coin or throwing of a dice.There is an equal probability that we toss a coin will show a head or tail. Similary thowing of an dice will show either of 1.2.3.4.5.6 with equal chance.

Another classical approach to probability is relative frequency, which is the ratio of the occurrence of an event and the total number of outcomes. e.g .

If we used the color spinner 20 times.we can see that the spinner landed on a purple square seven times, a blue square three times, a pink square five times and an orange square five times. Now we can find the relative frequency of the data set by dividing each number by the total like this:

Rule of Addition The probability that Event A or Event B occurs is equal to the probability that Event A occurs plus the probability that Event B occurs minus the probability that both Events A and B occur.

Rule of Multiplication The probability that Events A and B both occur, and its probability is Event A occurs times the probability that Event B occurs, given that A has occurred.
