Answer the following questions.

1.         Sustainable Development Goal 3 contains numerous health and health-related targets. Select two of these that you feel provide the biggest challenge to the global community. What makes these targets so challenging and how would you propose that these targets be addressed in the future?

2.         If you were responsible for entering a new community in a developing country, how would you prepare? Who would you talk to in the community? What would you ask? Why?

3.         If you were responsible for the development of a new health care system, describe what you would design, based on what you have learned from the textbook and videos.

4.         Describe the problem of developing pharmaceuticals for “Type III” diseases. Describe three actions you would recommend to help achieve the goal of more affordable pharmaceuticals.

Solution

1. Two goals that I feel prove as a challenge to th rglobal community are:

i). By 2030 end the epidemics of AIDS,tuberculosis,malaria and combat should be done against hepatitis,water borne diseases and other communicale diseases.

ii).By 2030 end preventable deaths of new borns and infants under the age of five years.

By the end of 2013,35 million people were infected with HIV. The same year 2.1million people were infected with HIV . Education plays a very important role in the fight against HIV. Many preventive measures that can be followd to reduce incidence if HIV are access to condoms,overdose prevention,counselling and testing.Anti retroviral therapy should be used strategically.

Inorder to prevent malaria,long lasting insecticidal nets and indoor resiual spraying should be done.Emeging problem of drug and insecticide resistance shoud be tackled.The diagnosis and treatment should be made available to one and all.

Inorder to prevent newborn deaths, skilled health care workers should perform home visit at birth.Infection due to inhiegenic cutting of umlical cord should be avoided.Vaccination should be administered timely.The child should be brestfeed within one hor of birth. The new born should be kept warm to prevent any infection.
