What happens to the muscle after it undergoes complete tetan
Solution
Treppe, the phenomenon is called as treppe.
Complete tetanus occurs, when stimulation increases, till the relaxation period eliminates completely. During complete tetanus, the action potentials arrive so rapidly and one after another, that ghe sarcoplasmic reticulum is unable to claim Ca2+ ions. This causes an increase in calciumions in cytoplasm, and the muscle remains in its contraction state.
Now after this condition and relaxation phase, if muscle is stimulated again , the contraction that will occur cause a slight higher maximum tension than it caused during the contraction of muscle when it was stimulated for the first time.
This tension rises for further 50 stimulations, and this pattern of tension rise ( in stages) is called as treppe.
