Let PA 13 PB 14 PAB 16 find the following probilities a PA

Let P(A) = 1/3, P(B) =1/4, P(AB) = 1/6, find the following probilities

(a) P(Ac U B)

(b) P(Ac U Bc)

EDIT: I just tried to do it like this, would appreciate it if anyone could tell me if this is right or not:

P(A U B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A n B)

P(Ac) = 2/3

P(Bc) = 3/4

so P(A?c? U B) = 2/3 + 1/4 - 1/6 = 8/12 + 3/12 - 2/12 = 11/12 - 2/12 = 9/12 or 3/4

Solution

a. P(Ac U B) = P(Ac) + P(B) - P(Ac n B) = 2/3 + 1/4 - (1/4 - 1/6) = 2/3 - 1/6 = 3/6 = 1/2

b. P(Ac U Bc) = 1 - P(A n B) = 1 - 1/6 = 5/6

Let P(A) = 1/3, P(B) =1/4, P(AB) = 1/6, find the following probilities (a) P(Ac U B) (b) P(Ac U Bc) EDIT: I just tried to do it like this, would appreciate it i
