A circle with radius 8 contains an arc length of 6pi. Find the radian measure of the central angle subtended by this arc.

I know you have to use the formula s=r

But, I don\'t know if I am using it wrong, becaus emy answer was 48pi

Solution

Yes we have to use that formula

arc length, s= radius ,r   *    theta

s= r theta

s=6pi      and r=8

Therefore

6pi= 8 theta

theta=6pi/8 = 3pi/4

Therefore the central angle is 3pi/4 radian
