An induction motor is controlled via an inverter part of a V

An induction motor is controlled via an inverter (part of a VFD) as illustrated below. Note that in the switching sequence table, there are 12 steps in each cycle (Step 13 repeats Step 1).

Control swwitching sequence

(1)   How many pulses are generated in the inverter in each cycle? How many levels of currents are sourced from this inverter?
(2)   Among the three phases of the motor, indicate the sequence energization (positive or negative?)

Solution

(a) the total number of pulses generated in the inverter in each cycle is: 24 pulses

the currents are souce from this inverter :24

(2) the sequence of energizaion is positive .
