Determine the value of K, K_h for the control system shown in Fig.1, if the max. Overshoot is 25%, and peak time is 2 sec. Then find the rise time and settling time for the-ve feedback control system shown. Obtain the unit step response of a unity feedback system, where the open loop

Solution

Transient Response of Control System

As the name suggests transient response of control system means changing so, this occurs mainly after two conditions and these two conditions are written as follows-

Steady State Response of Control System

Steady state occurs after the system becomes settled and at the steady system starts working normally. Steady state response of control system is a function of input signal and it is also called as forced response.

Absolute stability means whether system is stable or unstable.Relative Stability gives the degree of stability or how close it is to instability.

Overdamped response is when the system returns (exponentially decays) to equilibrium without oscillating.

Underdamped response is when the system oscillates (at reduced frequency compared to the undamped case) with the amplitude gradually decreasing to zero.
