You are extruding a 2 mm thick plate using an optimized single screw extruder with a channel depth in the pumping zone of 5 mm. What screw channel depth would you recommend if you were ask to extrude a plate that is only 1mm thick?

Solution

Sol: 2/1 = 5/screw channel depth

Therefore screw channel depth = 2.5 mm
