1. Find the angular displacement of 2.9 revolutions.
2. Find the angular displacement of 11.2 revolutions.
3. Find the angular velocity in radians/second of 4.2 revolutions in 2 minutes.
Solution
1) in one revolution angular displacement = 2*pi radian
in 2.9 revolution , angular displacement = 2.9*2*pi = 2.9*2*3.14 = 18.212 radian
2) angular displacement = 11.2*2*pi = 70.336 rad
3) angular velocity, w = angular displacement / time
w = 4.2*2*pi / 2*60 sec
= 0.2198 rad/sec
4) angular velocity, w = angular displaceement / time
time = angular displaceemen / w
= 2*2*pi / 8.9 = 1.41 sec
5) linear velocity , V = w*r
where w = angular velocity = 12.3 rad/s
r = radius = 5.9 cm
V = 12.3 * 5.9 *10-2 = 0.725 m/s
