How would you define classical conditioning in your OWN WORD? Give an example of something that involves classical conditioning from your OWN LIFE, making sure to outline the NS, US, UR, CS, CR. THank you
Solution
Classical conditioning refers to type of learning wherein an association is established between some normal response to a stimulus and a new stimulus. Then the response is evoked by the new stimulus.
A kid is trained to come to the dining table (CR) when we give the command, \"come and have food\" (US). After some time, he may come upon “seeing the served food without even calling\". Here, the CR (reaching the table) is not only done to the US (the command, \"come and have food\") but also to neutral stimulus (serving the food on the table) which becomes CS upon being repeatedly coupled with US.
