x^3 -x^2 -36x +36 =0

we can see x=1 is one root : 1-1-36+36=0

now divide :(x^3 -x^2 -36x +36)/(x- 1)

=x^2(x-1)/(x-1) -36(x-1)/(x-1)

=x^2 -36

Roots of x^2 -36 =0; x = +/-6

So, roots are x = 1 , -6 , 6
