In order to find the true distance between two parallel lines, follow the given points

1)Draw two parallel lines.

2)pick the first line and draw a perpendicular line at any point(say, point A) on first line.

3)The perpendicular line that you draw in point number (2),will intersects the second line (say at point B).

(4)Now join Point AB, and measure the distance AB

(5)distance AB gives the true distance between the parallel lines.
