Name: Kenned nih CIV 223 Midterm -Sequence #:25 Mia 1Date 31111 lem 1. If you drive a car with constant speed at 60 kilometer hour along the highway with a ature, whose radius-600 meter, what would be the acceleration that you would fel? (2s s) m 2. Tests reveal that a normal driver takes about 0.75 s before he or she can react to a n to avoid a collision. If a driver is traveling on a straight road at 30 mph (44 t/s) and his decelerate at 2 ft/S2, determine the shortest stopping distance d for each laotrians (25 points)
Solution
I am giving the solution for only the first question as the second question is unclear, post the second question in the comments and I will answer it.
Solution for Question No:1
Since the car is moving at constant speed, it will experience only the centripetal force and hence its consequent centripetal acceleration.
Centripetal Acceleration= v^2/r=((60 kmph)^2)/600m
=((16.67 m/s)^2)/600m=0.463 m/s^2
Hence the acceleration is 0.463m/s2
