I am writing a research proposal over the stereotypes of video games and with my project I have to create data as a hypothetical. I will have the participants watch different levels of gameplay and then determine what the participants believe the gender of the player is. I would think I would use a t-test; however, I am unsure. Would a different test be better or more accurate to my faux results? It is more a survey than a study comparing the genders. The question is whether the participants associate the more skilled game play with males and the less skilled play with females. It is the perception of the participants I am seeking to find, specifically if individuals believe males are more skilled at playing than females.
