Deviance is defined as behavior that goes against the norms
Solution
Medical experimentation on animals is deviance for a group of people whereas it is absolutely fine for the other group of people. It predominantly falls under the informal aspect of deviance as the experimentation on animals does not violate formally enacted rules as in the case of a murder, a robbery or a set of other anti social activities. A group of people who are empathetic by their nature generally do not like the act of excruciating animals like male whister rats, guinea pig, and other animals undergo. On the flip side, there is a group of people who see this as a step towards humanity as any drugs or methods tested upon the animals would serve humanity ultimately. Now, it is a bit contentious that human being by virtue of being the highest form of life should more sensitive and caring towards its fellow living beings, or it should be more concerned with its own good.
