Then the time the target is hit is 9 seconds but I don\'t understand why the time the target is hit is 9 seconds why isn\'t it just the 6 seconds? Can you please explain thanks.

Solution

the unit circle is given by x2 +y2 =1. The time required to release is 3 seconds and then to reach the target is 6 seconds therefore total t1+t2 =3+6=9 seconds. t1 is initial time and then t2 is the final time to reach the target.
